FLAGS AT FORT SAM

Friday, May 24, 2013

  Pack 114 will again be participating in placing flags on the graves at Forth Sam Cemetary this Friday.  The event starts at 4:30.  This is a full Class A uniform event.  If you are new and do not have your class A uniform, you may participate by wearing your red pack shirt and denim shorts. Please remind your scout that this will be a reverent ceremony.

  Pack 114 has been requested to handout programs as well as meet and great at this event.  It will be hosted by our chartered organization, American Legion Post 38.  We have been asked to arrive in full Class A uniform by 9:00 a.m.  Please remind your scouts that this will be a reverent ceremony. 

JUNE PACK MEETING

 During the summer, we have FUN with purpose.  Our first summer time activity will be a Water Fun Day.  Each den will be asked to bring items and work a water game area.  Den Leaders will be contacting the parents of their scouts regarding their particular area.  It will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.  This is a class B uniform event.  It is an optional event; however, counts towards your June Summer Time Pack Activity.

PACK COMMITTEE MEETING

Our next pack committee meeting will be at the American Legion Hall.  All pack parents are invited to attend.  We are in need of some parents to serve on this committee.  Please consider giving 1 hour a month of your time to serve on this committee

UNDER THE BIG TOP

Tuesday, June 18th through Friday, June 21st

 You can still signup from Summer Day Camp; however, you must take your payment and forms to the Council Service Center on NW Military Drive.  The cost is $75.00 per scout which includes breakfast, lunch, patch, T-shirt and supplies.  Camp hours are Tuesday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Activities will include archery, BB gun shooting, nature, crafts, swimming and science as well as special lunch-time demonstratiosn all while earning awards. This event is optional, but counts towards your June Summer Time Pack Activity.

DRAGONS - RINGLING BROTHERS CIRCUS

Sunday, July 2nd at 3:30 p.m.

 This event is closed to further ticket orders.  However, you may purchase tickets through Ticketmaster on your own.   This is a Class B uniform event. This event is optional, but counts towards your July Summer Time Pack Activity.

MISSIONS FIELD OF DREAMS

This event is closed to further ticket orders.  However, you may purchase tickets through Ticketmaser on your own.  Me Toos may attend the game, but may not participate in the sleepover portion of the event.  This is a class B uniform event.  This event is optional, but counts towards your July Summer Time Pack Activity. 

JULY PACK MEETING

  Our second summer time activity will be outdoor movie night.  We as a pack will meet at the outdoor movie in Poth to view Wreck-It-Ralph.  The movie starts at dark.  Please bring chairs, blankets and snacks. This is a class B uniform event.  It is an optional event; however, counts towards your June July Summer Time Pack Activity.

CAMP AKELA

July 31st through August 3rd

This year's Camp Akela will be held at the Bear Creek Scout Reservation in Hunt, Texas.  This is a Webelos only camp.  If your scout is attending without a parent, the fee is $130.00.  If you will be accompanying the scout, the fee is $120.00 for the scout and $60.00 for the parent/guardian.  Each scout attending this camp will need a physical performed and signed by a physician.   Final payment is due at the June pack meeting.

DISTRICT RAINGUTTER REGATTA

August 10, 2013

 Longhorn District will be holding a raingutter regatta (please see specific tab).  It will start with a raingutter regatta, then we will have hot dogs and refreshments and end with a pool party at the city pool.  The event will be held at the Floresville City Park.  Time TBA.  This is a class B uniform event.  This is an optional event, but will count towards your August Summer Time Pack Activity.

BREAKFAST FOR DINNER FUNDRAISER

August 16, 2013

  This will be our Pack Fundfaiser.  We will be holding this starting at 5:00 p.m. Location TBA.  We will be serving pancakes, sausage or bacon, eggs and drinks.  More information will be forthcoming from the Fundraising Chair.  All pack parents and scouts are strongly encouraged to help with the pack fundraiser. This will count towards your August Summer Time Pack Activity.

AUGUST PACK MEETING

August 18, 2013

  This will be our first official pack meeting of the 2013-2014 scout year.  ALL scouts will be required to have their full Class A uniform for this meeting.  We will be having an arrow-of-light ceremony for the Raptor Den scouts who will be leaving the pack and crossing into the Boy Scout Troop.  This will be your first required event of the scout year. This will count towards your August Summer Time Pack Activity.

TROOP 114

Do you have a boy 6th grade through 12th grade interested in scouts?  Have we got a deal for you!  Cub Scout Pack 114 has a Scout Big Brother...TROOP 114!  Troop 114 is also associated with the American Legion Post 38.  They would love for your son to be involved.  If you are interested, please contact  Mr. Soto, Scoutmaster, at lrssh1224@aol.com  The Troop meets 2nd and 4th Sundays at 6:00 pm at the American Legion Hall.
